The Trust employees a Football Development Manager whose remit is to
encourage greater involvement in grass roots football within Tameside.
To assist in this the Trust with the aid of the Football Foundation has
invested in two first class football facilities at The Copley Centre,
Stalybridge and Medlock Leisure Centre, Droylsden. These two sets of four
6 a side pitch facilities each comprise of state of the art, floodlit,
rubber filled synthetic playing surfaces, complete with dedicated changing
areas.
Schools are offered free use of the football facilities during school term
time, with the Football Development Manager providing coaching. Currently
about 150 children per week benefit from the weekly coaching sessions. Local
colleges also make use of the excellent facilities as part of their enrichment
programme for 16 to 18 year olds. Currently around 50 students attend each
week.
