Tameside Sports Trust manages six swimming pools all committed to giving the best level of instruction and guidance to all our pupils. Active Swim Aims To:

• Maintain a high quality of Swimming Instruction.
• Encourage skilful and competent stroke technique.
• Teach water safety and to make pupils aware of the dangers of water.
• Liase with parents/customers on a regular basis.
• Identify any child who has potential and guide them to the appropriate coaching environments.

Our swim scheme is available for all ages and abilities and is based on the ASA's (Amateur Swimming Association) 'National Plan for Teaching Swimming'. We are continually aiming to improve our service and extend our range of classes.

Tameside Sports Trust has a team of fully qualified teachers who have received additional training to update their skills and teaching methods. As a result we can provide a wide range of classes including Mums and Tots, The Wally Walrus Club, "Two in a Tub" lessons, Child Swimming Lessons, School Swimming Instruction, One 2 One lessons, Holiday Intensive Crash Courses, and Adult Lessons

Swimming lesson availability varies slightly at each pool, however throughout the facilities, lessons are available seven days a week. Unfortunately, due to the popularity of swimming lessons, pools will have a waiting list in operation. The waiting period for lessons is approximately 2 - 6 months. At most pools children must be 4 1/2 years old before their details can be placed on the list. However, at Droylsden and Dukinfield Pools due to the depth of the water children must be at least 5 years old.
