  Tameside Sports Trust

About the Trust!

Tameside Sports Trust was established in April 1999, to run and manage swimming pools and sports centres in the Tameside area and is supported by Tameside MBC.  The Trust is a registered charity (registration number 1074808) and a 'not for profit' organisation which means that any surplus income (or profit) must be put back into the facilities and services that it provides.

We aim to provide facilities and activities to help you improve your health and fitness, develop your sporting goals or simply enjoy your leisure time.

SwimmingThe Trust is overseen by a board of voluntary trustees who are recruited from the local community and have been appointed because they want to be involved in the provision and development of sport and recreation within Tameside and have valuable skills and experience to offer.

Facilities managed by the Trust include 6 swimming pools providing a range of sessions for all ages and abilities, including swimming instruction for children and adults, parents and tots sessions, pre and post natal classes, ladies only, adults only, lane swimming, early morning sessions and children's fun sessions. Each pool also has a range of clubs providing for competitive swimming and other specialist water based activities.

Indoor sports halls and activity areas can provide for a number of sports and activities including football, badminton, squash, netball, basketball, aerobics and other exercise sessions, gymnastics, trampolining and indoor bowling.
In conjunction with Pulse Fitness we provide two, state of the art, air conditioned 'Club Pulse' fitness studios in Hyde and Ashton. Additionally, gyms and weight training equipment can be found at other facilities.

Two of the latest additions to the Trust's range are the Planet Soccer football centres at The Copley Centre and Medlock Leisure Centre. Each site has four floodlit pitches providing the ultimate in synthetic playing surfaces and catering for club and pub teams, leagues and coaching.
